We are about to finish our second week of fieldwork.  We are concentrating on three areas: A domestic structure that was destroyed by the Assyrians in 701 BCE; outer city walls which we are trying to explore their nature and date of construction; expansion of the exposure of structures recovered in earlier seasons containing a textile workshop and food preparation area.  Shortly after our arrival to the site, a fierce forest fire burned everything around our site; however, our work area wasn’t touched because we cleared it before the fire started.

During our first weekend we took a trip to some archaeological sites and the Dead Sea region.  Tomorrow, we are going for a two-day trip in Jerusalem.
