The staff is assembling slowly at the site in order to make preparations for another field season. In the next couple of days we will set up the lab, prepare the tools, mark the areas to be excavated and pick up at the airport the students who are coming to dig. It’s going to be another exciting season.
The photo at the top shows an assemblage of ceramic vessels discovered in the textile workshop a few seasons ago and restored in the lab of the Cobb Institute of Archaeology/Mississippi State University. This is the kind of work we are engaged in year-round. Excavation is only the first step; analysis and publication are the goal of our work.
